Traveling is always a fun and exciting experience, but getting through the airport can be a struggle. So here’s six airport hacks to make your journey easier.
1. Take an empty bottle through security
You can take it through security without issue and fill it up at a water fountain. Avoid the RM5 water air side.
2. When looking at the security screening lines, look at the people in those lines
Typically a line full of business men and women will move much quicker than a line of single tourists and families. The business people know all the protocols and will generally get through it quickly.
3. Move all contents from your pockets to your carry-on before security to prevent delays
Instead of fumbling around with loose change, jewelry and belts, place all those items in your carry-on or purse prior to going through the security checkpoint to have fewer items that may cause the line to pause.
4. Bring a portable phone charger
Having a portable phone charger can be a lifesaver if you can’t find an open outlet at the airport. You can also use it in-flight, when your phone is likely in airplane mode and therefore not using much power. This can be a great way to make sure you have charge when you land.
5. Be careful when wearing headphones at the gate
Listening to music, streaming a podcast or watching a movie on your mobile device helps pass time at the gate, but also puts you at risk of missing important gate announcements. Be careful when tuning out the noise that you don’t also tune out the signal.
6. Mark your baggage as fragile
This is a great way to ensure that your baggage is handled correctly. Your luggage is kept at the top because of this, which will make it one of the first bags to be released.
