Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said Malaysia, Chinese and Indian schools in Johor state should be replaced with single stream ”Bangsa Johor” schools to promote unity.
“You have Malay schools, Chinese schools, Indian schools and from young you teach them not to unite,” said Tunku Ismail. “And when they grow up, you tell them to unite?”
The crown prince said he hoped the Johor government would set the curriculum for schools in the sate in the future.
“In the future, there won’t be Malay, Indian or Chinese schools in Johor. Religious schools will still be around. What we will have instead is Bangsa Johor schools,” he said.
“From young, kids will be taught to unite, respect other religions and respect other races.”
